 Codal provision for Side face reinforcement in beams according to IS-456:2000

In this article we disccused Codal provision for Side face reinforcement a/c to IS-456:2000

Side reinforcement is provided in the following cases :-

1. when depth of beam is greater than 750 mm and (beam is not subjected to torsion)
2. when beam is subjected to torsion and depth of beam is greater than 450mm ,then provide minimum side face reinforcement(0.1% of web area )  half on both side
