The limitations of plate load test are as follows :-
1.It has the limited depth of influence. (i.e, approximately double of the width of the plate or the diameter of the plate if circular plate is used in place of the rectangular/square plate)
2.It may not give the information on the potential for long term consolidation of the foundation soils.
3.since for clay soil Quf = Qup is not exist since it is performed for the short run time hence bearing capacity doesn't find.
