What is the deep dynamic compaction explain in short?
When we Repeatedly drop a weight (tamper) freely from a certain height (which is calculated on the basis of energy required to the ground) on the ground surface to compact the geomaterial to a deep depth this procedure of compaction is known as the deep dynamic compaction.
Weight of the tamper ranges from 5 - 40 tonnes
Height ranges from 10 - 40 m
The weight of the tamper is selected according to the availability with the contractor.
The height of free fall is adjusted according to the required energy.
Deep dynamic compaction Can compact the soil upto a depth of 10 m
