Guidelines to Design a Pile Group

In this article, I discussed the important Guidelines to Design a PileGroup

1. Length For friction pile group length may be 10-20 m. Where as for end Bearing pile group it is equal to the depth of the hard strata.
2. Diameter It is kept in the range of 0.3- 0.9m
3. Spacing It is the kept in range of 2.5D-  4D(generally)
4. No. of piles in group  Generally Square pile groups [3x3, 4x4, 5x5] ars preferred
5. Group Efficiency It should be greater than equal to one
