How Calculations Work

Beam Formwork: Two side faces (depth × length) plus soffit (width × length) for each beam. Convert mm to m by dividing by 1000.

Formula: A_beam = n × [2(d/1000)×L + (w/1000)×L]

Slab Formwork: Equal to plan area (A_slab = slab area).

Wall Formwork: Two faces of length × height (A_wall = 2 × L × H).

Column Formwork: Perimeter × height × count (A_column = k × P × H).

Total Formwork Area: A_total = A_beam + A_slab + A_wall + A_column

Timber Batten Length: Battens at 0.3 m centres (both faces): L_batten = (2 × A_total)/0.3

Shoring Props Required: One prop per 2 m², rounded up: N_props = ceil(A_total / 2)
